Third Eye Blind will take a break from recording their third album to play a benefit concert in April for the Tiger Woods Foundation.

The San Francisco Bay Area pop rockers will share a bill with John Mellencamp at the Tiger Jam IV in the City of Sin on April 28. The fourth annual event, to be held at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Events Center, will raise money for the golf superstar's youth charity, and other children's charities based in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday.

Third Eye Blind are working in their native San Francisco on the follow-up to 1999's Blue, with an eye toward a late 2001 or early 2002 release, their Elektra publicist said.

In other 3EB news, frontman Stephan Jenkins will appear in the upcoming movie "Rock Star," staring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston. The flick is scheduled to open in theaters in the spring.

Established in 1996 by Woods and his father Earl, the Tiger Woods Foundation seeks to empower young people through educational programs, motivational speeches and golf clinics.
