I think this song is about how we are all living in a big horror show in our messed up world. All the stuff that is happening to us is weird and strange like a freak show and he wants to escape - "Banish me and mine to outer space" - to space to breathe and get away from all the craziness here. It seems like all the weird stuff that happens to us in this horror show (our world) is going on while someone else is watching (maybe like a god or something) but there is no one watching - "we are all alone in this horror show" - in reality it is just us out there living our strange lives.

I think this song is about living life and wanting to be yourself and get away from everything and about the consequences. There is always something holding us back from what we want.

"Since I was a little kid I tried to get out of my head trapped on the playground I would stare at the sky"...well what hes trying to say there is how when you're realy young and you're just starting out in the world how everything just scares the shit out of you and you find yourself staring out into space to get away from it all. The song in general is how life in general is so fucked up and distorted sometimes that you feel like your watching a horror show. I think he's also trying to convey his feeling of being confined on this planet and having no where to go like when he says "Banish me and mine to outer space I'd shoot there in a second just for the breathing space" and "Do you feel there's no where to go we're the bait in a horror show". well thats pretty much my theory except for that part about Lou Reed at the end. Anyone have any clue about that?

Simple enough: I'm not like you, I'm different, and I fucking love it!

This song is about a guy who starts out his life as a litte kid wanting to be different from everyone else, stated in the lines,

"Since I was a little kid I tried to get out of my head
Trapped on the playground I would stare at the sky"

As he grows older, some people join him and kindof be his followers, while some just think he's weird and they leave him alone.

"Some conformed
And some tried to escape"

So he creates his own little world where he can have everything his way and him and his followers rule everything else,

"Banish me and mine to outer space I'd shoot there in a second Just for the breathing space I'd ut the punks on the moon For head-room Mods rule the galaxy"

He lives his life with everybody thinking he's wierd and avoiding him and he enjoys it to the fullest. He is happy that he's different. Sounds like pot head to me.

I believe that the song "Horror Show" is about trying to be an individual and not letting society swallow you into a world of conformity. However, it seems to be inevitable, because the only way to achieve our shallow and materialistic goals is through conformity. But nobody wants to admit it. I think this can be proved by the line,
"It's a joke that we all know, were the bait in a horror show." I think that by horror show, he means the world and society. I am probably totally wrong, but no one else had any theories on this, so I thought I would attempt to analyze it.

" Banish me and mine to outer space...I'd shoot ther in a second just for the breathing space."

I think this song is about anyone who ever dared to be a nonconformist or who didn't fit in, and how the rest of this ridiculous society makes those few real people feel like misfits or outcasts, but yet they can't ever keep them down.

Horror Show

Since I was a little kid I tried to get out of my head
Trapped on the playground I would stare at the sky
I didn't even know why
But daily life it took an evil shape
Some conformed
And some tried to escape
And those are the misfits that I have known
Like a sock in the eye
They feel it to the bone
It's a joke that we all know
We're the bait in a horror show
We are all alone In a horror show
Banish me and mine to outer space
I'd shoot there in a second
Just for the breathing space
I'd put the punks on the moon
For head-room
Mods rule the galaxy
That's the way I think things should be
The creep in you is the creep in me
Gravity presses down like a lie
We want wild sex
But we don't want to die
Do you feel there's no where to go
We're the bait in a horror show
And we're all alone in a horror show
Yeah we are all alone in a horror show
If I spoke in words of only hate
Tell me would you now
Could you relate?
And I,
I wish I met Lou Reed
Out on his darkened sea
'Cause I felt it when his blood would flow
But it doesn't take a thousand years to know
That ship burned a long time ago
And we're all alone in a horror show
We're all alone
We're on our own
In a horror show
