Name: aaron talton
i believe that this for a girl that he is desperately in love with.
"anything for you till my castle's blue, till my bones descend just to see you." this is basically saying that he would give this girl anything till his castle or body is blue or dead. Till his bones descend or he dies just to see again. this is an ultimate showing of love. this is poetry.
this song, to me, is a tribute to love in general. "anything for you, turn my castles blue, turn my bones to sand, just to see you" and then stephan brings in the Jackie-O thing, which is, in my opinion, about how Jackie Onasiss (sp?) would do anything to see JFK again. "all the words to what's unspoken" "put together everything that's broken." yes. this is how i feel.
Stephan makes references to Jackie O., which is JFK's wife. I think Stephan is writing this song from the perspective of JFK. Talking about "Jackie O. with the top down open." Considering JFK was in a convertible when he was killed. He is saying that even though JFK "fooled" around with other women, "I'll give you anything" and "Take back even words unspoken, just to see you". Proving that JFK loved Jackie O. and that he would have given her anything.
I think this song is about JFK's wife. "Jackie-O with the top down open (convertible) all the words to what's unspoken (love basically) I'll put together everything that's broken (possible problems in their relationship) just to see you" "A king's horse" (JFK could be symbolised as a "king")
This song reminds me of how I have felt, when I was alone and away from anyone who really cared about me. I think that this song is autobiographical, in the sense that Stephan has felt intensely lonely at times. Probably, when a person is on stage 200 nights a year, while on tour or whatever-- he simply feels lonesome for a "real" member of his life. Fan worship is undoubtably a tremendous rush, but it is no substitute for "the real thing". That's what I think, anyhow.
here we have a guy who is crazy for a girl, "just to see you, i'll give you anything" says it right there he is beyond the point of head over heels. he would even give his life to see this person again, "turn my bones to sand, just to see you". "all the words to what's unspoken, put together everything that's broken" applies to each of us differently. for some it could be to patch up a rocky past, or to be with one who has past. he loves this person so much that he can't be without them in any world. he still thinks about her constantly and has so much to tell her if only she were there to hear it. at the present moment he is weaker than ever before when she was with him. "turn my castles blue" describes the solid state of mind he was in while they were together, and now even the strongest of castles could not withstand the loss. an emptiness looms in the background.
